1st Assistant Keeper’s Cottage
This building was constructed in 1885 on the site of the original Keeper’s house which burned in 1884. Its floor plan is identical to the Head Keepers cottage.

Restoration
The restoration on 1st Assistant Keeper’s Cottage building took over 2 years to complete. Many architectural details that were hidden, such as a window in the stairwell, were carefully restored to their original appearance. Today this building is used at the Tybee Island Historical Society’s Administrative building and is not open to the public.
