Getting Involved

Volunteers are the backbone to our Historical Society. Because we are a non-profit society we rely on volunteers everyday. We need you and your talents.

Volunteers do the following:

• Greet the visitors at the lighthouse and museum.
• Help on site with various projects
• Interpretation

Benefits of becoming a volunteer include:

• 40% discount on gift shop merchandise

Membership to the Tybee Island Historical Society includes:

• Free admission to the Lighthouse and museum
• 10% discount on gift shop merchandise
• A bi-annual newsletter
• Free admission into membership events such as the Pirates Ball (see image above) & Full Moon Party.
• Member appreciation dinner
